Until her graduation from Junior High, Ellen was raised and lived in the United States. Because of this, she is fluent in both English and Japanese, and has a love for studying foreign cultures and lifestyles. When she returned to Lunervale to enter High School, she was the envy of many and was very popular because of her knowledge of foreign countries and her 'exotic' look. And while Ellen my look fragile and timid, she is a very strong girl both physically and mentally, and finds it very easy to adjust to new and different circumstances and surroundings.

Ellen has a deep love and interest for the Occult, so when she was asked by Brad to join in a game of Persona, she couldn't agree fast enough. Ellen tends to not see events of supernatural nature with a clear mind; while she sound be careful and weary about such events, she is instead curious and overjoyed by being able to witness the event, which inevidably puts her in grave danger. As well, when such occurenses do take place, she tends to think she can handle them all by herself, and doesn't always think with a clear mind.
