Ms. Smith is a very well-liked and respected teacher, because she is very intelligent, a caring person, and respects her students for who they are inside. Because she is one of the few teachers who is willing to give the less-desirable students a chance, her class is known as the 'loser' class. While little is known about it, Ms. Smith caused a student harm in the past, and this ends up coming back to haunt her.

Selina has always harbored deep down feelings of resentment against Mary, because for a while Mary and Bruce had an attraction to one another. She also feels ill towards Mary becuase of her popularity, while Selina had to live in her shadow. She cared for Bruce very much, but this becomes clouded when she is tricked by Maggie and becomes known as the 'Harem Queen,' ruling the Black Market in the alternate world using a magical mirror that grants her any wishes.
