It was a little over a year ago that I closed the doors to the Velvet Room. No longer having the time or energy to keep up with the site, I decided to pass it on to someone else, in hopes that they would continue to give it the love and attention that it deserved. I have always held Persona dear to my heart, and I think there should be as many sites as possible to help promote it, and the rest of the Megami Tensei series, among English-speaking fans. And, not to sound egotistical, but I think the Velvet Room is a pretty damn good resource for information on Persona - going back through it shorty before writing this, I didn't remember having such a diverse and comprehensive selection of information on the game.
However, as of today, the Velvet Room is still not back up by the hands of the person to whom I entrusted it. So, I have made a decision - I've got more than enough room right now to re-host the Velvet Room, so damnit, that's what I'm going to do. So, as of now - it's back.
It's return does have two conditions, though. The first is that I am telling all of you right now that there may possible be NO updates ever to this site. I think, any future updates or not, it's a pretty nice little resource while I'm sure at least a few people will find handy in the forseeable future. Since the Velvet Room is based on it's collection of information, not the latest news and pics, it can just sit on my site and still be of some interest. But, while I say that, I'm not saying that I for sure will NOT ever update it - if I have the time, and I get more information in, it's quite possible that I will. In fact, I'm currently considering going back and trying to finish out sections like "the Games" section, parts of the site that aren't fully complete. Basically, stop by every now and then if you're a Persona fan, just in case I have done an update - just don't come expecting one.
The second condition is that if the person I originally entrusted the Velvet Room DOES finally get his new version of the site put back up, and it's obvious that he's going to be supporting it and making sure that it stays up, then this site will go down. If that doesn't happen - then this site should be around for a while. <smile>
